This is MY blog, NOT YOURS. If you leave a comment on any article that implies that it is off-topic, you will be banned from commenting for life, because NOTHING IS OFF TOPIC HERE. THERE IS NO SET TOPIC. Part of my reason for having this blog is simply to use as a storage location for some information or ideas I may wish to reference later, so if you don't like what you read, there are plenty of other blogs on the web, and perhaps one of those will be more to your liking. Don't bother to leave a comment saying you don't like an article, because I couldn't care less!

Comment Policy:
I've been criticized for not adhering to my previous comment policy, so here is my NEW policy on comments: I can and will delete any comment I damn well please for any reason whatsoever, or for no reason at all. It's MY blog, and if you don't like my policy, then don't let the door hit you. There are thousands of other blogs you can read; NO ONE is forcing you to read mine.
Basically, I am looking for comments that add value to this blog, particularly comments on technical articles. I am not looking to get into an argument with people who disagree with my opinions. Get your own blog if you feel a need to air your opinions. Even if I allow you ONE dissenting comment, assume that will probably be the ONLY one you get, and that I'll probably have the last word.
If you send a comment that is insulting or disrespectful, I will gleefully delete it, and you run the risk of being permanently banned from leaving further comments. I am relatively thick-skinned (on most days), but I have limits as to what I'll tolerate.
WordPress offers you the opportunity to fill in a "URL" field when you leave a comment. Please DO NOT DO THAT. If you do, there is about a 95% chance I will reject your comment and mark it as "spam" (which means any future comments you leave will likely be automatically rejected before I even see them). I wish there were some way to turn off that infernal "URL" field but there is not, so again, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT!!!!!
