Setting up Asterisk at home « Chris Copsey
This guy managed to get Asterisk running on a Buffalo Linkstation, “which a handful of geniuses at linkstation wiki have managed to hack into a fully-fledged Debian box.” For those of you who don’t know, Debian is a Linux distribution. It’s an interesting idea for those who don’t like the thought of leaving a desktop computer running 24 hours a day just to have their own VoIP PBX, but I wonder if this device has sufficient computing power to also run FreePBX, or some similar configuration utility? He’s manually configuring Asterisk, which is fine for those who enjoy that sort of thing, but there’s no way that I’d ever try to use Asterisk without FreePBX or something similar.
